Ah, the turtleneck. Some say it makes them claustrophobic, but to me its both cozy and chic. If you have been keeping up with @shopaholmik on IG, you may already be aware of my deep love for turtlenecks. As my collection grows, so does my desire to style them in different ways (which just equals more shopping, yay!). The versatility of this thing is enough to blow yo' mind. I love how it makes so many pieces deemed "summer appropriate" season-less. Here are four ways I've style the fitted turtleneck as of late, and where to find similar pieces if you'd like to recreate the look yourself. xx
1. UNDER A MAXI DRESS
No need to retire your summer maxi dresses. I have been keeping my maxis far from the back of my closet by layering them with a solid, neutral fitted turtlenecks. Keep it simple with a basic spaghetti strap or add some detail with a strappy back maxi.

2. UNDER OVERALLS
I always seem to migrate to jeans in the winter - one of the few things that can hug you close and shield the cold, but sometimes it's nice to throw some new denim into the mix and rock a pair of overalls. A big cozy knit turtleneck is my usual IDGAF go-to, but if you are feeling girly try a black fitted lace option.

3. UNDER A SLIP DRESS
Things just feel a lot less cold with a cozy knit layer under those little slip dresses. Add a pair of OTK boots and you are totally weather appropriate (or as appropriate as you can be while still looking cute!). This fitted turtleneck is actually a body suit, which I love, and this crushed velvet slip dress is from Zara.

4. UNDER A BODY SUIT
I love that we can wear our barely-there body suits year round, a-top a turtleneck of course. This black one I have is from ASOS and basically goes with everything. It is the perfect silent partner for the more stand-out pieces, like this shiny body suit from Zara.
